Orbital awarded three-year Ordnance Survey contract

Ordnance Survey has awarded a three-year contract to data and print services group Orbital Response & Fulfilment, which includes the provision of a personalised print-on-demand map service to consumers, businesses and organisations.

Ordnance Survey Select enables customers to order full-size Landranger or Explorer maps via the company's online shop.

Once a web order is placed, the maps are printed by Orbital's state-of-the-art printers at its warehouse. They are then either rolled or folded, and posted to customers.

The contract was awarded following a public tender process and extends Orbital's nine-year relationship with Ordnance Survey.

Orbital is also charged with processing and despatching maps and guide books available at the Ordinance Survey website.

The company's other clients include RAC, National Magazine Company and Teacher Training & Development Agency.
