Krause will unveil its new X-Jet platesetter, which has been exclusively designed for use with the KBA Cortina waterless printing press, at this month's Ifra Expo in Amsterdam.

Krause's X-Jet platesetter, which has been successfully trialled at one of the first KBA Cortina users – "a well-known printing house in the North of Germany" – fills a gap in the manufacturer's portfolio.

The company said: "Krause already has a full range of violet platesetters and processors for all newspaper segments and now enters also the world of waterless CTP vendors."

The modular platesetter, which has a total dimension of 3,205x1,700mm, can hold up to 600 plates in an autoloader and image up to 200 plates per hour.

Krause said that the X-Jet would be available in four versions, starting at 70 plates per hour, to allow a choice of output capacity and system cost.

The X-Jet is compatible with the Marks-3Z processor, as well as Krause's NetTrack and Servace Gateway interface, which enables a secure connection to the company's global maintenance service.

German-based Krause said that it expected the X-Jet to "certainly contribute to [its] growth".
