Q&A: Mark Newall

Mark Newall is marketing manager of Flint Group's consumables division Day International. He is 33 years old and has been in print for 10 years. He once attempted to dye his hair red, but managed to dye his skin red instead. This may or may not be why he walked into a cupboard during a business meeting.

What is the strangest job you’ve ever done?
When I was at university, I had a part-time job packing frozen food in a sub-zero degree warehouse during one of the hottest summers on record

Who would you like to be stuck on a desert island with?
My girlfriend Sally

What is your greatest ambition?
To own a desert island (with facilities)

What piece of kit would you like to see invented?
A calendar with a three-day weekend

Most embarrassing moment?
On leaving a business meal, taking the wrong door and walking into a cupboard

What’s your worst fashion disaster?
Not so much a fashion disaster, but I did try to dye my hair red once. My hair stayed brown, but my face and hands stayed pillar box red for days

Where would you go if you could time-travel?
The 1960s. Great music, football world champions... What more could you need?

What is the worst kind of print?
Anything not printed with Flint products

What was your childhood obsession?

Winding up my little brother James
