Mitsubishi HiTec Paper UK has said it will increase the price of its Giroform carbonless paper for both sheets and reels.

The coated paper manufacturer said the price of its Giroform sheets will increase by 6% and its Giroform reels by 7%. This is the third round of price rises for carbonless paper this year.

A spokesman for the company said the price rises were the result of increasing energy, raw materials and transport costs.

He said: “The weakness of the pound versus the euro has [also] played a part. This has meant that European mills have lost 16% of sales value year on year, and that’s before the other cost increases are taken into account.”
