Presstek has reported that sales of its 52DI machine have almost doubled in the first quarter of 2007.

The press manufacturer has reported growing demand for its Direct Imaging (DI) digital offset product line around the world and is expanding into emerging markets.

It currently has more than 3,000 DI systems installed worldwide and recently sold equipment in Brazil, Canada, Germany, Poland and Russia.

Chief executive Jeff Jacob­son said: “To meet our growth initiatives, we will continue to expand in Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America.”
