BPI offers light top-sheet to create pallet security

Bpi.films, a division of British Polythene Industries, has developed a top-sheet that seals individual pallets and prevents moisture, dust and dirt from contaminating palleted goods.

The top-sheet is designed for use in conjunction with bpi.films’ pallet stretch-wrap. When a pallet is stacked with goods, the polythene sheet is positioned over the top of the pallet and pulled down evenly on all sides.

Stretch-wrap is then applied around the pallet, creating a protective seal and making stacked pallets more stable.

Alex Begley, bpi.films sales director, said: “All businesses look at ways to increase profitability. By wrapping pallets effectively, with a quality-assured product, unnecessary waste can be reduced. Research has found that, although an initial minimal investment has to be made, the top-sheet can give companies added security against what can be major financial losses through contaminated goods.”

Bpi.films claims that the top-sheet, which can be used with hand-reel and machine applications, is manufactured from one of the most environmentally-friendly films on the market. It added that the lightness of the films can help reduce the amount of material used in the wrapping operation, making it easier for companies to comply with packaging waste regulations.
